“When you have an emotional reaction to what you see, you are judging. That is your signal that you have an issue inside of yourself - with yourself - not with the other person. If you react to evil, look inside yourself for the very thing that so agitates you, and you will find it. If it were not there, you will simply discern, act appropriately, and move on.”
“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.”
We all watch the same television programs,” the mouth [Fertility] says. “We all hear the same things on the radio, we all repeat the same talk to each other. There are no surprises left. There’s just more of the same. Reruns.— Chuck Palahniuk
I am tired of all these expectations, I am tired of people frowning upon individuality and independence from the system, I am tired of people making life into something way too serious to obtain in a world of such variety and spontaneity. It is our purpose to experience, yet within the system our experience is limited by class and social status and impossible expectations. How can anyone truly say that we’re actually living up to our fullest potentials by taking part in this society? You know, everyone is just a copy of everyone else that all abide by such limiting standards… not a lot of people know how it feels to experience freedom.. or experience true passion because throughout the majority of their lives, they have been working for someone else within a demanding system that people never question. People just think that if they follow the rules by going to school and getting a job, then it means that they’re ‘living up to their potentials’ when most people don’t even know what that really means because what it means has nothing to do with making money. Living up to our potentials would be to live happily, in a stress-free environment because we all know what stress does to our bodies, and to explore the mysterious variety of life and to experiment with the beautiful and creative things this world and our hands have to offer! Living up to our potentials would be to take care of our environment because it takes care of us, to share the abundance of life with everyone as a whole because we are all one. There are literally an infinite amount of things we could be doing with our individual lives and with life as a whole.
“The empty mind - the pure mind - is not a blank, zero-land, where you’re not feeling or caring about anything. It’s an effulgence of the mind. It’s a brightness that is truly sensitive and accepting. It’s an ability to accept life as it is. When we accept life as it is, we can respond appropriately to the way we’re experiencing it, rather than just reacting out of fear and aversion.” —Ajan Sumedho
